Himalayan Trails Trekking in the Garhwal Himalaya

Safety and responsibility

The mountain decides. We just prepare for it.

Every trek runs with a trained leader carrying a first-aid kit, supplementary oxygen and a pulse oximeter. Oxygen saturation is checked daily above 10,000 ft, and the reading is written down, not remembered.

The leader has the final call on whether a group continues. A turnaround is not a failed trek — it is the system working.

A trained leader on every departure

Every group walks with a leader who carries a first-aid kit, supplementary oxygen and a pulse oximeter, and who has walked that trail in that season before.

Daily oxygen checks above 10,000 ft

Oxygen saturation is measured every day at altitude and written down, not remembered. A falling reading is acted on before it becomes a problem.

An evacuation route for every campsite

Before a group leaves base, the leader knows the way down from each camp, where the nearest road head is, and who to call.

The leader has the final call

If weather or a trekker's condition says turn around, the group turns around. A turnaround is not a failed trek — it is the system working.

Small groups, fixed capacity

Each departure has a seat limit that the website enforces live. We do not add people to a group that is full.

Nothing left on the mountain

Everything carried in is carried back out. Camps are left as they were found.

What we ask of you

Safety is shared

  • Be honest about your fitness and any medical condition when you book — it changes how we pace the group.
  • Carry your own personal medication and tell the leader what it is for.
  • Follow the leader's call on turnarounds and rest days without argument; it is made for the whole group.
  • Drink water through the day, eat even when you do not feel like it, and sleep at the camp altitude the leader sets.
  • Trekking is an outdoor activity with real risk. Travel insurance that covers trekking to the trek's altitude is strongly advised.
